Whiteboard
Whiteboard mode gives you a fast freeform canvas for brainstorming, sketching, and visual ideation, with built-in paths to convert work back into structured flowcharts.
When to Use Whiteboard Mode
- Capture rough ideas before formalizing a process
- Run collaborative planning sessions with quick sketches
- Combine freehand drawing, shapes, arrows, text, and reusable assets
- Build wireframes, architecture diagrams, or mind maps with AI assistance
- Present whiteboard content in a clean, fullscreen view for stakeholders
Switching Between Flowchart and Whiteboard
Use the canvas mode switcher in the editor header to toggle between Flowchart and Whiteboard. Your content in each mode is preserved independently.
Shortcut: Shift + W to toggle modes.
Native Drawing Tools
Whiteboard mode includes 8 native drawing tools: select, freehand pen, rectangle, ellipse, arrow, line, text, and eraser, each with a single-key shortcut for fast switching.

Present Frames as Slides
Organize your board into frames (press F on the canvas) and Present walks them as slides in reading order — top-to-bottom, left-to-right.
- Navigate with ← / → (or Space), or the presenter bar's arrows
- The presenter bar shows each frame's name and your position (2/5)
- Boards without frames present as a single fullscreen fit-all view
- Exit anytime with Esc
Live Collaboration & Facilitation
Shared boards get a workshop toolkit via the Facilitate menu in the editor header (editors and owners). Everything below works in both whiteboard and flowchart modes:
Live co-drawing
Everyone draws at the same time — edits merge element by element in real time, so collaborators never overwrite each other's strokes.
Shared timer
Timebox activities from the Facilitate menu (1/5/10 minutes). Everyone sees the countdown; a chime marks time's up.
Voting sessions
Start a vote and participants click items to cast votes — anonymous until you reveal the results as count badges.
Follow & bring-to-me
Follow a collaborator's viewport from the Facilitate menu, or pull everyone to your view with Bring everyone to me.
Emoji reactions
Send ephemeral emoji bursts at your cursor (press E on the flowchart canvas, or use the Facilitate menu).
Cursor chat
Press / to type a quick message that floats beside your cursor for everyone — perfect for lightweight callouts mid-session.
